General Family Care
Dr. Schwaiger is a licensed primary care/general practice physician in the State of Arizona. The majority of laboratory and imaging tests ordered by Dr. Schwaiger are covered under most insurance plans (exception is Medicare). Naturopathic Physicians are trained in the use of conventional laboratory analysis and imaging techniques.

Prolotherapy

Dr. Gustav Hemwall introduced prolotherapy to a group of physicians during his lecture in 1955 on chronic low back pain. He retired his practice of prolotherapy in 1996 at the age of 87. Prolotherapy is the treatment of soft-tissue damage using injections of dextrose, lidocaine and normal saline solution. The term prolotherapy is derived from the word prolo, short for proliferation. The therapy is intended to proliferate tissue growth in the damaged area. This therapy fits well with one of the basic principles of naturopathic medicine: “the healing power of nature”.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Oriental medicine is a complimentary healing philosophy to naturopathic medicine. Acupuncture provides a method of treatment that can harmonize the imbalances present in disease conditions, which, if untreated, can result in illness.

Clinical Nutrition
Many medical conditions can be treated effectively with nutritional interventions.

Hormonal Medicine
Offering specialized approach to thyroid and other hormonal imbalances. For those who choose not to use hormones, I successfully treat unwanted menopausal symptoms with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.

Botanical Medicine
Many plant substances are powerful medicines. Botanical medicines are compatible with the body's own chemistry; hence, they can be effective with few toxic side effects.

Homeopathic Medicine
Homeopathic medicine is based on the principle of "like cures like." It works on a subtle yet powerful level, gently acting to strengthen the body's healing and immune response.

Physical Medicine
Naturopathic Medicine has its own methods of therapeutic treatment of problems related to muscles, bones, and spine. I use trigger point therapy at times with physical manipulation.
